Job Description:
Incumbents analyze Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Infection surveillance data and conduct extensive follow-up
Provide thorough documentation to report care/status of clients
Link newly diagnosed/previously diagnosed HIV clients to appropriate medical care
Coordinate HIV care with the Health Department’s programs and other healthcare providers; assist clients with eliminating barriers to medical care
Identify newly diagnosed or previous HIV/Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) positive persons through testing and partner service activities
Identify, notify, evaluate, and/or treat suspected sex and needle-sharing partners of clients who are diagnosed with HIV or another STI
And perform other tasks assigned, which may not be listed in the position description; however, are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s class of work.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Biological, Physical Science, Social Science or a related field; or a minimum of thirty (30) semester credits in one of the Biological, Physical and/or Social Sciences. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
